AGELESS PANDEV SIGNS NEW GENOA DEAL

Veteran striker Goran Pandev has decided to continue his playing career at Italian football team Genoa. The report from Italian football news portal Sky Sports Italia stated that the 37-year-old North Macedonian football icon has agreed a new one-year deal with Genoa. Pandev will play in the Italian SerieA for the new season with the latest development.

Pandev is a free agent at the moment but it won’t be for long after the reported one-year contract extension agreement with Italian football team Genoa. His previous deal with Genoa expired at the end of last month.

With the new development, Pandev will definitely play into his 38th year which will start next week.

Ex-Inter Milan and Lazio striker Pandev represented North Macedonia at the recently concluded Euro 2020 tournament and he had the honour to score the first goal for his country at a major tournament.

North Macedonia played at a major tournament for the first time at Euro 2020 though it ended in a group stage exit. They were bottom of Group C behind Ukraine, Austria and leaders Netherlands.

Pandevhad said he would make a decision over his future after the Euro 2020 tournament. The experienced attacker has had time to think about his future while on holiday and has decided to continue his career in Italian football with Genoa. He has decided to sign a new deal until June 2022.

North Macedonia striker Pandev started his career in Italy when he joined the Inter Milan youth academy in 2001. Apart from the Nerazzurri, he has represented Ancona, Lazio, Spezia and Napoli in Italian football. He moved to Genoa six years ago.

Pandev has an attacking output of 32 goals and 11 assists in 165 games for Genoa in all competitions since signing for the Italian football side in 2015. He scored seven goals plus three assists in 29 appearances in the Italian Serie A for Genoa last season at the age of 37.
