COMAN SETS EYES ON PREM

Kingsley Coman is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League this summer, with Arsenal stepping up their long-standing interest in the Bayern Munich winger. The French international is believed to be eager to test himself in English football after nearly a decade in the Bundesliga—and Arsenal could offer the perfect platform for his next chapter.

Coman, 28, has struggled for consistency this season, starting only 11 Bundesliga matches and scoring four goals in 23 appearances across all competitions. Injuries and heavy rotation have seen him slip down the pecking order at Bayern, and with the club set for a major shake-up this summer, his time in Munich looks increasingly likely to come to an end.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern have now decided they’re willing to cash in, and Arsenal have already made contact with Coman’s camp to explore a deal. The Gunners are said to have rekindled their interest from previous windows, with Coman viewed as a player who can add experience, pace, and a winning mentality to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Coman, who has won league titles in France, Italy, and Germany, is understood to be intrigued by the challenge of the Premier League and sees England as the ideal stage to prove himself against some of the world’s best defenders. While Saudi clubs are also believed to be interested, the winger’s priority is thought to be staying at the highest level of European football—and the opportunity to join a project like Arsenal’s may prove decisive.

Bayern are reportedly asking for around £35 million for the Frenchman, though that figure could rise closer to £45 million if a bidding war develops. For Arsenal, the price is viewed as reasonable for a player of Coman’s calibre and experience, particularly with the club planning a significant summer overhaul under new sporting director Andrea Berta.

Mikel Arteta has already hinted at a busy window ahead, describing the upcoming months as “a big one” for the club. “We want to increase the depth of the squad and the quality and the skills that we need to go to the next step,” the Spaniard said earlier this month. Coman would certainly fit that brief—offering genuine competition for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, as well as depth for a team competing across multiple fronts.

Arsenal’s attack has been effective this season, but at times overly reliant on the brilliance of Saka down the right. Coman, with his blistering pace, sharp dribbling and knack for performing in big moments, could ease that burden while raising the overall level. His track record speaks for itself—he scored the winner in the 2020 Champions League final and has a habit of delivering when it matters most.

Alongside interest in Coman, Arsenal continue to pursue targets in other areas. Strikers Victor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko remain on the radar, while Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams is another wide option being monitored. In midfield, Martin Zubimendi remains a key target, with the futures of Jorginho and Thomas Partey still unresolved as their contracts near expiration.

Coman has conquered Ligue 1, Serie A, and the Bundesliga. Now, with Bayern ready to let him go and Arsenal eager to strengthen, the stage may be set for him to take on the Premier League—a challenge he’s long been curious about. And for a player who thrives on elite competition, there may be no better time to embrace the next test.
