AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that he might need to step aside for another penalty taker after he missed again at the weekend.
The Swedish football legend has taken Italian football by storm on his return to the Rossoneriat the start of the year. He has been a key player for AC Milan in their ascent to the top of the Italian Serie A table this season but was left frustrated by his inability to convert from 12 yards out during the league game with Hellas Verona on Sunday night.
The Rossoneri had to do things the hard way after conceding two goals inside the first twenty minutes of their game with Verona at the San Siro on Sunday night. The late strike from the PSG legend ensured thatMilan forced their opponents to a 2-2 draw thus leaving the former Barcelona and Ajax Amsterdam player frustrated.
Despite getting a well-deservedpoint in the end, Zlatan told reporters that it was a disappointing result as his team was expected to win the game. He also revealed his dismay over the lack of success from his penalties this season.
Zlatan missed a penalty during the Verona game to take his record to just one successfully taken penalty from his four penalties this season. According to him, he might relinquish his position as the penalty taker for Frank Kessie.
Ivorian international Kessie had a very good record of nine successful penalties from ten attempts before Zlatan returned to the club in January.
With the point earned against Verona, Milan failed with the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the league table to four points after seven games. They have 17 points and two more points than nearest challenger Sassuolo.
