Italian Serie A leaders AC Milan aree reportedly interested in signing one of the defenders on the books of reigning European champions Bayern Munich. This is according to the newest reports coming out of the media in Italy. The Rossoneri are keeping tabs on an experienced player at the Allianz Arena.
According to MilanLive, Bayern Munich centre back Jerome Boateng is a major target for AC Milan ahead of next summer. The long-term future of Boateng is in serious doubt at the Allianz Arena and the Rossoneri are prepared to capitalise on the situation. The target is to add his experience to a young Milan squad.
Jerome Boatengwould become a free agent when his Bayern Munich contract expires at the end of this season. The Ghanaian-born German international could speak with clubs on a free transfer move in January. As per the transfer rule, the 33-year-old is free to talk to other teams about a move as long as he has six months on his contract at least.
After falling out of favour under previous Bayern Munich managers like Carlo Ancelotti and Niko Kovac, Jerome Boateng has established himself as an important player for the current regime under Hansi Flick. Boatengwas an integral part of the team that won a historic treble last season. Bayern had won both the league and the cup before the treble was secured with the win over Paris Saint Germain(PSG) in the Champions League final.
French international winger Kingsley Coman scored the only goal of the game via a header to propel the Bavarian giants to a 1-0 win over the French champions in Portugal. The slim victory was enough to give the German champions their sixth European title.
Jerome Boateng was previously a target for Premier League club Manchester United, Italian champions Juventus and PSG.
