Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has allayed fears over the thigh injury he sustained in training with his Italian football club earlier this week. The Napoli star used his Instagram story to tell fans that he would be available for the home game against Fiorentina in the Italian Serie A this weekend.
Osimhen, 23, picked up a thigh problem during Napoli training on Wednesday and it made him a doubt for the league clash with Fiorentina on Sunday with his Italian football team keen to end their long wait for the Italian Serie A title this season. Napoli are in a three-horse race for the Italian Serie A title alongside holders Inter Milan and AC Milan.
Nigerian star Osimhen experienced discomfort in training on Wednesday according to a statement from Italian football outfit Napoli, but tests carried out on the player ruled out any injury thus making him available for the tricky league clash with Fiorentina. Napoli would be hoping to take a big step towards the league title with an home win over the team from Florence. As things stand on the Italian Serie A log, Napoli are second and one point off leaders AC Milan, while defending champions Inter Milan are in third place and three points adrift of Napoli. Inter Milan have a game in hand on both AC Milan and Napoli. While Napoli and Milan have seven games left to play, Inter Milan have eight games to play.
Napoli fans would be delighted that their star striker would be available for the visit of Fiorentina after he left the training session at Castel Volturnoearly on Wednesday due to a problem in his left thigh.
Osimhen has 15 goals in 25 games for Napoli in all competitions this season. He had earlier missed almost two months this season due to a facial injury.
