Bosnia international Miralem Pjanic has said that Juventus are aiming to win everything within reach during the ongoing campaign. The Bianconeri have made a bright start to the season with an unbeaten record across all competitions and Pjanic fancies his team to go all the way to celebrate a treble under Max Allegri.
Speaking to reporters, Pjanic highlighted that there is plenty of hard work involved in competing for the Serie A crown and they cannot take things for granted despite winning the league in the past seven seasons. He added that the Champions League also remains a priority for them now that they have competition for places within the first-team squad.
However, when the opportunity rose to return to Turin this summer, he took the chance with both hands and he has now admitted that he made the mistake to leave the Bianconeri in the first place, he told Corriere dello Sport: “Things happened during my last four months at Juventus… things which really hurt me on a personal level and dented my pride. I wasn’t clever enough to let things go, I should have let it slip by.
Speaking to Sky Italy, the experienced midfielder said that he feels settled after enduring a difficult first season and he is open to the prospect of extending his stay beyond June 2020, he said: “I’d like to renew, I feel good and I’ve settled in after a hard year. I also feel good with my teammates who had faith in me. The relationship with the boss [Gattuso] is the best, I do what he asks me to do for the team.”
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Darmian admitted that he wants to move on from the Mancunian giants and does not believe the injury to Antonio Valencia will hamper his ambition, he said:“I don’t think the injury of Antonio is a big injury. I don’t know how long he needs to stay out, but at the moment he is the captain, he’s first choice. I want to play more regularly.Last season, I didn’t play much — that’s my objective and my ambition. That’s why I spoke with the manager and also with the club about my future. I want to leave but we will see what happens because we don’t know.”
Federico Macheda said that the team seems to be united and that they are ready to fight to win every game. He said that it has been a long time that England did not have a confident side and that he is sure that they can manage to reach the final at least. He said that the England national team has also been helped by the draw as they are found in the weaker bracket of the tournament.
