SPALLETTI, SABATINI PICK OSIMHEN OVER MBAPPE

Former Bologna director Walter Sabatini and Napoli manager Luciano Spallettihave opted for in-form Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen ahead of his Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star KylianMbappe who recently won the UEFA Nations League with France.

Both Mbappe and Osimhen are 22 and they have made the headlines for putting the ball in the back of the net consistently this season.

Ex-Bologna director Sabatini chose Osimhen ahead of Mbappewhen asked to choose between the two players in a chat with Italian newspaper Corrieredello Sport. According to him, the Super Eagles of Nigeria player is unstoppable and he can run onto impossible balls and make them count by hitting the back of the net.

Osimhen has nine goals in tengames for Italian football side Napoli in all competitions this season. He scored his ninth goal of the season in the Europa League win over Legia Warsaw on Thursday. He scored one of the goals as Italian football team Napoli beat their Polish opponents at home to pick up their first win in the Europa League this season.

Napoli manager Spalletti was asked about the same question as the aforementioned Sabatini and he agreed with his opinion. The ex-Zenit and AS Roma manager was asked the question when he faced the press earlier today ahead of the trip to face former team Roma in the Italian capital on Sunday.

Mbappe scored the winning goal in the 2-1 comeback win over Spain as France sealed the UEFA Nations League earlier this month. He added the Nations League to the World Cup title from three years ago. Mbappe signed for Paris Saint Germain (PSG) from fellow French team AS Monaco in a €145m deal in 2018 and he has six goals and eight assists in 13 games for PSG this season.

For Osimhen, Italian football giants Napoli signed the Nigerian striker from Lille in the French league in a deal worth €70m last summer.
