Manchester United have unveiled bold plans to replace Old Trafford with a new 100,000-seater stadium, aiming to move in by the start of the 2030-31 season. After weighing the option of redeveloping their current ground, the club has decided to build a new venue in the same location.

Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe described the project as “the start of an incredibly exciting journey” to deliver what will be “the world’s greatest football stadium, at the centre of a regenerated Old Trafford.” Architects Foster + Partners revealed concept images of the new stadium, which will be constructed using 160 pre-fabricated sections. This innovative approach is expected to reduce the build time to just five years.
